Autumn Bailey Remodel: Before and After

We discover amazing new full-time RVers all the time and we immediately fell in love with the folks over at Instagram account @AutumnABailey. Autumn and her family live in a remodelled fifth wheel toy hauler that, quite honestly, anyone would feel at home in. The wood panels, homey decor and attention to space make it all worth sharing. Oh, and their little one – Bear – is also the cutest kid ever! Here’s Autumn’s story:

“Hey there! My name is Autumn Bailey. Last year my husband Rusty, our son Bear, and I packed everything into our toy-hauler and set out on a 4-5 year adventure of tiny living!

My husband is a pipe welder, so we get sent all over the country for work. I’m a born asphalt gypsy(most my siblings were born on a remodeled USAF bus) and we wanted Bear to experience this different side of life and also get the opportunity to travel while he’s young enough to not be in school, therefore we decided we’d move as a family! So with our lifestyle, “tiny mobile living” fit to a T. We bought a new Keystone Fuzion toyhauler and headed out on the road!

Almost immediately you start to get into the sync of things and start to realize what works for you and what just can’t. Our hauler was built to accommodate weekender hauls and didn’t really fit with living full time. So we decided instead of molding to our trailer, we would mold it to us and our needs since we’d be living in it for the next 4-5 years.

To make our hauler our own, We painted walls cabinets and hardware, and swapped out counters, sinks, and faucets. Changed out all the flooring, and tore out our massive slide-length couch so we could fit a smaller Loveseat and table.

Our biggest change was gutting our bedroom and setting up a nice area for Bear to live in, So he has his own space to create and play and sleep. We then decided to transform our ‘garage’ area into our bedroom, which pretty much consisted of just taking down most of the bunk beds and taking all the hideous diamond plating out.

It took a long time to complete, about 3 months of working while the babe sleeps and after my husband gets home from work.. but we’re done and we’ve lived in our newly renovated trailer for a few weeks now, and the difference is unreal. Coming home to a place you have made your own is a great feeling. We still have a few small projects to do, but we’re so happy with the results and seeing our plans come to life!”
